Living, Growing and Sharing in God's Love

Confirmation at St. John's is an innovative, creative and fun three-year program for our young people in Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Grades.  Involving youth, teachers, parental guides, and congregational prayer partners, our young people are immersed in a community of faith that cares for them and shares a love of scriptures and the teachings of the Lutheran faith. Confirmation students and guides meet on Sunday mornings between 9:30 to 10:30 and go on two great retreats every year.   For more information, click here...

VBS is always the “best week of the year” (after Holy Week, Easter and Christmas, of course) at St. John’s.  With stories, crafts, music, games and activities, children learn about God in a dynamic, living community of faith.  Children aged three through sixth grade are welcome to attend.  Older youth serve as Assistant Teachers, Craft Helpers, Recreation Counselors, and Small Group Guides.  Parents can get involved in the fun as part of the staff.

Afternoon Adventures continues the morning fun for children in need of an all-day experience.  Register early by calling the Church Office at 610-933-3947.  For more information click here...

Our Sunday School provides an atmosphere of loving instruction, joyful activity, and faithful learning for children ages two through eighteen. Enriched with special music and all-school activities, our children and youth delight in learning about God’s glory and Jesus’ love. Committed, carefully trained, enthusiastic teachers share the joy of the Christian faith with their students on Sunday mornings from 9:25-10:25 am.  To learn more, click here...

On Sunday mornings there are four or five learning opportunities for adults at St. John’s.  Three of our classes take place every Sunday of the year.  Others are eight weeks in length and spread out over four sessions.  Class locations are listed outside of Kley Hall, our fellowship hall.  Care for children under two is available downstairs in the Nursery Sunday School room.  All the classes begin at 9:30 AM.  New folks are always welcomed.  For information about specific classes, click here...

The FAITH FIVE – Faith Acts In the Home

Each and every night we ask our families to turn off the television, put down the newspaper, log off the computer and invest five minutes – either during dinner or just before the youngest goes to sleep – to do these five simple steps.

1.  SHARE highs and lows of the day.

2.  READ and highlight a verse of scripture in your Bible. (St. John's Weekly Newsletter -- Life Together as well as the weekly email makes a suggestion for a verse for each week.)

3.  TALK about how the verse relates to your highs & lows.

4.  PRAY for your highs and lows, for your family, and for the world.

5.  BLESS one another.  Make a sign of the cross on the forehead and finish off with a kiss.

Practicing THE FAITH FIVE keeps us connected to one another in our families and to God.  It helps to raise stronger, healthier, happier children and adults.

Senior Highs -- 10th through 12 graders -- have several learning opportunities on Sunday morning.  A class just for them called "Faith Lens" meets with our Youth Minister each week.  In it they explore issues of the day in connection with their faith as well as some things that are part of being a young adult.  Some Senior Highs serve as assistant teachers in our Sunday School, while others join adult classes.  For more information click here....

While children are always welcomed in Worship and encouraged to be there, child care is provided in our upstairs pre-school class room known as the "Creation Room" throughout Sunday morning.   Our Nursery Coordinator is a former parochial elementary school teacher, who works with teams of parents and high school students.  For more information, click here....
